Brilliant performances from both U12 Blue and Yellow squads today. Yellows won 2-0 away to Knocknacara, and the Blues lost out 3-1 to Corrib Rangers in Newvillage, after a great battling second half with Captain Taylor hitting the post with a few minutes to go to almost set up an interesting finish. Goals from Nicky and Matthew for the Yellows and Ryan scored a beauty for the Blues. Since the season started, we can already see improvement in this group. Well done lads.
Under 14 Boys Premier were away to Cregmore this afternoon. After a slow start OAFC found themselves 3 nil down at half time. They came out in the second half and really turned it around. With 2 goals in close succession Oughterard were well on top. Cregmore scored a fourth goal late on against the run of play and OAFC couldn’t find a way back. The game finished 4-2 to Cregmore.
Another tough away game under the Junior Men’s belts. East United put together a couple of nice moves early on to go 2-0 up after 20 minutes. We had numerous chances to get back into it but couldn’t find the net. Difficult start to the season for the lads but we will keep going and do everything to turn things around.
