Congratulations to Cillian Tollett who signed his first professional contract with Galway Utd this week at just 16 years of age!
Cillian started out with COMETS at OAFC and played up to nearly 14 years old before being drafted by Galway United.
He proved to be an amazing teammate and leader when he was with us at OAFC.
The Club is delighted to see Cillian progress along the football pathway, from development and competitive football in Newvillage, to underage and academy football with Galway United and Ireland, to making his senior debut in the Premier Division in October.
Very proud moment for Cillian, his family, and all of us at OAFC! Just reward and recognition for all his hard work & commitment. Well done Cillian 👏Image attachmentImage attachment+2Image attachment

⚽ Sunday Round Up ⚽

A solid team performance from U18 BOYS sees them through to the next round of the Div 1/2 Cup.
A convincing 3-1 win vs Renmore AFC saw the boys 2-1 up at half-time with Renmore getting a player sent off to take the pressure off.
James was gifted an easy goal in the second half to complete his hat-trick.
First half goals were identical, deadly strikes low to the far corner.
Well done to all the players!
⚽️
U14 GIRLS played out a 1-1 draw vs Merlin Woods.
It was a tough game as both teams went head to head as they each tried to carve out a win right up to the final whistle.
OAFC girls showed a great display of skill and teamwork throughout the game.
⚽️
Hard luck to U16 BOYS who lost away to Athenry this morning.
OAFC started the game well and were 2-1 up thanks to a goal from Ryan and an OG.
The boys were controlling the game for most of the half but conceded three in five minutes just before half-time.
They kept pushing in the second half but unfortunately it was Athenry who found the net three more times.
The boys will learn from today and move on to the next game.
Well done to all the Players and Coaches on another great Sunday of football!Image attachmentImage attachment
